April 28th @ various time slots - Earth Day Natural Dye - Hastings-on-Hudson Spring Thing

Destination Hastings presents Spring Thing, a street fair in honor of Earth Day and local business. Saint George Salon is hosting a booth and The Wreath Forager will be leading a natural dye tutorial.

Using food prep scraps from Saint George, last season's dried flowers and fresh flowers from Michelle’s garden, you will create your own natural bundle dye. Versatile organic cotton bandanas will be provided--great as a neck or headscarf, headband, or table linen for your home.

Tickets are $35: includes one cotton bandana, register at booth (Warburton Avenue, at the Firehouse) Plan on 15-20 minutes to complete your bundle, then leave the project to steam so that the dye melds with the fabric (please account for time to return to pick up your project (about an hour of steaming required). This workshop is for adults and children alike! Children must be supervised.

Join Kate Sonders Solomon and Michelle Adams in the charming upstairs private dining room at Saint George Bistro for a DIY tea party and private shopping experience to celebrate the all the moms.

You'll be welcomed with Saint George's perfect little gougères and a glass of bubbly. Kate will lead the group through a selection of finger sandwiches and bites fit for a beautiful and delicious tea party. We will assemble tea trays, add in some extra treats from Saint George, and take plenty of photos.

At the end of class enjoy your creations alongside fine loose leaf tea from Teagevity. We'll send you off with recipes and you'll have the chance to shop handmade botanical gifts from Michelle (@thewreathforager).

Tickets are $135 - includes bites, a glass of bubbly, and tea from Saint George, and all materials/instruction for the cooking classes (also covers gratuity for restaurant staff and sales tax).

Join Kate Sonders Solomon and Michelle Adams in the charming upstairs private dining room at Saint George Bistro for a botanical workshop to celebrate the blooms of Spring and Summer.

You'll be welcomed with a glass of French rosé and a cheese board from Saint George. Then we'll head into a natural dye tutorial from Michelle. Using last season's dried flowers, traditional dye plants, and fresh flowers from Michelle's garden, you will create your own natural bundle dye. Versatile organic cotton bandanas will be provided--great as a neck or headscarf, headband, or table linen for your home.

As the flowers meld with the fabric, we'll move onto a cooking project with Kate. You will learn how to make a fresh pasta pressed with edible flowers and herbs, and we'll brighten things up with a seasonal farmer's market salad. Kate's recipes are simple in technique, yet complex in flavor--always the best combination of delicious and beautiful.

We'll finish the meal with dessert from Saint George, and then send you off with recipes and dye projects from the class.
